General Product Questions

Q. Is Pecatonica River Popcorn Gluten Free?

A. All of our popcorn products are Gluten Free; however, our Trail Mix, Milk Chocolaty Pretzels, Deluxe Cashew Clusters, Cherry Cordials, English Toffee, and Peanut Caramel Clusters are not Gluten Free.

Q. Is Pecatonica River Popcorn non-GMO?

A. There has not been any laboratory modifications to the genetics of our popcorn to alter it in anyway.

Q. Does your microwave popcorn contain Diacetyl?

A. No, our microwave products do not contain Diacetyl.

Q. Where can I find Allergens and Nutrition Information?

Q. There is a white coating on my chocolate popcorn and/or chocolate covered pretzels. Are they safe to eat?

A. Yes, it is completely safe to consume. The white color is normally due to what we call “bloom.” This happens when the product gets warm and cools back down. During the process the sugar and/or fat from the chocolate rises to the top and then dries white.

Supporting your Scout(s)

Q. How do I support?

A. Each seller has a unique 6 digit Seller ID that is used to credit/track online sales. You should have received that ID from your seller's parents/guardians. Once you have that ID, you can enter it at checkout.

Q. How do I know if my seller sold online?

A. You will receive an email each time an order is processed that is linked to your Seller ID. This could be a couple of weeks after the order has been placed. The Unit Leader/Kernel Leader will also receive an email. They also have the ability to log into Scout Boss to confirm your Seller’s online sales. The orders are updated daily Monday - Friday.

Q. What if I don’t have a specific Seller to support?

A. If you do not have a specific Seller to support, please enter the word SUPPORT at checkout and your donation will be shared among the participating Councils we serve.

Q. Can I support more than one Seller with one order?

A. No, only one Seller can be supported per order. If you would like to support multiple Sellers, you would have to place multiple orders.

Military Donations

Q. How does a Military Donation work?

A. When you purchase a Military Donation, the Military Men and Women receive products represented in your Council’s flyer. We offer the Military Men and Women a variety of products which includes ready to eat popcorn and microwave products. When a Military Donation is purchased, that amount of product is donated to one of the non-profit agencies we work with. Those agencies deliver the products to our Military Men and Women. Since we don’t directly ship the products from our facility, we are unable to give specific addresses you would like the popcorn to go to.

Q. Is any portion of the Military Donation tax deductible?

A. When you purchase a Military Donation, your full purchase is a charitable contribution since you don’t receive product in exchange for your payment. This means that your Military Donation should be 100% tax deductible. As always, make sure to double check this with your tax professional, as tax laws change.

Ordering and Checkout Questions

Q. How do I order just one popcorn flavor?

A. The Sellers selling in your area offer a variety of individual flavors. If you would like a Seller to reach out to you please contact us so that we can put you in contact with the nearest council selling Pecatonica River Popcorn.

Q. Can I purchase year around?

A. Pecatonica River Popcorn is made exclusively for the local Councils and can only be purchased during the fundraiser sale. If you would like to purchase products after the sale, please contact us and we can put in contact with the Council nearest you.

Q. Why are the online selections different than what is on the order form?

A. Pecatonica River Popcorn works with each of our councils to build an individualized program to capitalize on their strengths and assets. The online selections are offered nationally as a supplement to each local council and thus some of the flavors and pricing may vary.

Q. Can I make changes to my order?

A. If you need to make changes to your order, please email us immediately at [email protected] and we will do our best to accommodate. However, due to the speed in which we fulfill orders, we may not be able to accommodate all requests. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Shipping Questions

Q. How long does it take for the products to be shipped after an order is placed?

A. We make the popcorn fresh, so shipping will vary depending on the order volume. We will also delay the shipping of chocolate product due to excessive heat to ensure it doesn't melt in transit.

Q. Can I ship to an APO and/or FPO address?

A. At this time we are unable to directly ship overseas. The Military Donations that we do send overseas are done through non-profit agencies that do not allow us to give specific addresses.

Q. Can I ship overseas?

A. No, at this time we can only ship to the contiguous 48 United States. Contiguous United States does not include Alaska or Hawaii.

Q. How much does shipping cost?

A. Shipping is free for all orders.

Q. I have a PO Box mailing address and billing address and the system will not take the information for shipping. Can I ship to a PO Box?

A. No, we do not ship to PO Box addresses.
